On Saturday, 23 January 2021, in the afternoon at around 11:00, in Šilalės district municipality, Eželiškių village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 216.70), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volvo FH, a Toyota Land Cruiser, a vehicle, a Schmitz and a Volkswagen Polo. One person was injured — a 30-year-old passenger of the Toyota (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the Volvo (20 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident there was fog, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
