On Friday, 7 May 2021, in the afternoon at around 11:00, in Kaunas, on Varnių street near No. 40, a Seat Alhambra hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 89-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 62-year-old driver of the Seat (40 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 30 km/h.
