On Saturday, 3 July 2021, at night at 2:20, in Šilutės district municipality, on the Šilutė–Užliekniai regional road (kilometre 4.84), a Subaru Forester ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Subaru, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.40‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
