On Monday, 2 August 2021, in the morning at around 10:00, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Aleksandrija–Ginkūnai national road (kilometre 2), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Scania, an Opel Omega-B-Caravan, a Citroen C4 Picasso and a trailer/semi-trailer > 10 t. Two people were injured — a 5-year-old passenger of the Citroen (treated as an outpatient) and a 8-year-old passenger of the Citroen (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Scania (13 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. All drivers were sober.
