On Sunday, 29 August 2021, in the evening at around 22:00, in Trakų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 23), a traffic accident occurred. The accident involved a DAF FT XF95 registered in Poland, a car and a BMW. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the DAF (12 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 120 km/h.
