On Monday, 2 August 2021, in the morning at around 7:00, in Šilutės district municipality, Lapynų village, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 192), a vehicle hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
