On Sunday, 14 November 2021, in the evening at around 17:00, in Kauno district municipality, Giraitės village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 104.25), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Skoda Yeti and a Scania. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 65-year-old driver of the Skoda (40 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
