On Wednesday, 8 December 2021, in the afternoon at around 11:00, in Vilnius, on Dariaus ir Girėno street near No. 17A, an Opel Zafira hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Opel (1 year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
