On Wednesday, 5 January 2022, in the morning at around 8:00, in Kelmės district municipality, on Vytauto Didžiojo street, at the junction with Dariaus ir Girėno street, a Nissan Qashqai hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 49-year-old driver of the Nissan (21 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober.
