On Wednesday, 26 January 2022, in the morning at 7:41, in Kretingos district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 114.97), a DAF hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 55-year-old driver of the DAF (26 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, there was fog, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
