On Monday, 31 January 2022, in the evening at 20:20, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 44.70), a BMW 530 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the BMW (9 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was snowing, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
