On Sunday, 8 May 2022, in the evening at around 17:00, in Vilnius, on Algirdo street, at the junction with Panerių street, a Toyota Prius hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 27-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the Toyota (10 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 40 km/h.
