On Saturday, 11 March 2023, in the afternoon at 15:44, in Anykščių district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 98.75), a Volkswagen Touran ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was snowing, the road surface was wet.
