On Monday, 22 May 2023, at night at around 2:00, in Kaunas, on Studentų street, at the junction with Gričiupio street, a collision with a bicycle occurred. The collision involved a Toyota Prius and a bicycle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Toyota (7 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
