On Friday, 16 June 2023, in the evening at around 17:00, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) national road (kilometre 216.90), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat, a Toyota RAV4, a Subaru Legacy and a Toyota Corolla Verso. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 61-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (20 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober.
