On Friday, 5 January 2024, in the evening at 17:22, in Varėnos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Varėna–Gardinas main road (kilometre 48.38), a vehicle hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who violated cargo-transport rules. He fled the scene.
