On Friday, 12 January 2024, in the evening at 18:10, in Raseinių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 147.09), a BMW 5ER Reihe ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the BMW (3 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
