On Monday, 24 June 2024, at night at 4:30, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 85.21), a Nissan Primera hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 52-year-old driver of the Nissan, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.03‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
