On Tuesday, 6 August 2024, in the morning at around 5:00, in Vilnius, on Stepono Batoro street, at the junction with Pergalės street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Ford Mondeo registered in Poland and a Honda CR-V. One person was injured — the 50-year-old driver of the Honda (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Ford, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
