On Sunday, 8 September 2024, in the evening at 19:15, in Vilnius, on Stepono Batoro street, at the junction with Pergalės street, a car hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person died — a 68-year-old pedestrian (later died from the injuries). The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of a car (2 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober.
