On Saturday, 2 November 2024, in the afternoon at 15:20, in Vilnius, on Savanorių pr. near No. 33, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a BMW 530 XD, a BMW and a car. Eight people were injured — the 31-year-old driver of the BMW 530 XD (severely injured, hospitalized), a 38-year-old passenger of a car (treated as an outpatient), a 8-year-old passenger of a car (treated as an outpatient), a 54-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient), a 33-year-old passenger of the BMW 530 XD (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt), a 27-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient), a 23-year-old passenger of the BMW 530 XD (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt) and the 29-year-old driver of the BMW (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the BMW 530 XD, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. She had no driving licence. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
