On Wednesday, 26 June 2013, in the morning at 9:10, in Kaunas, on Birštono street, at the junction with Vilniaus street, a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 311 CDI hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 85-year-old pedestrian (later died from the injuries). The accident was caused by a 85-year-old pedestrian, who committed sudden emergence from behind a vehicle, tree, etc..
