On Friday, 5 July 2013, in the evening at 21:20, in Kaunas, on Pramonės pr., at the junction with Draugystės street, a BMW 320D hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 23-year-old pedestrian (severely injured, hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the BMW (1 year of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. She fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
