On Saturday, 2 April 2016, in the afternoon at 11:23, in Kaunas, on Pramonės pr., at the junction with Draugystės street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a BMW 530 and a Volkswagen Transporter. Three people were injured — a 48-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient), the 25-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient) and a 36-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the BMW (16 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
