On Thursday, 19 March 2015, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Kaunas, on Pramonės pr., at the junction with Draugystės street, a Ford Taurus hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. Two people were injured — the 56-year-old driver of the Ford (treated as an outpatient) and a 51-year-old pedestrian (severely injured, hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 56-year-old driver of the Ford (20 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
