On Sunday, 12 January 2014, in the afternoon at 11:15, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 110), a BMW 535 D hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the BMW (15 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was snowing, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
