On Sunday, 27 August 2017, in the evening at 19:30, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 110), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Vento and a Volkswagen Golf. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Vento, who failed to give way when changing direction. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
