On Sunday, 23 February 2014, at night at 3:22, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 45), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz Actros 1841 registered in Belarus, a Schmitz Cargobull S.CS24-13.62 registered in Belarus, a Schmitz Cargobull S.CS24-13.62 and a Scania R 340. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (a citizen of Belarus) (22 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 100 km/h.
