On Thursday, 17 September 2015, in the evening at around 22:00, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 45), a Mazda 3 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who committed traffic rule violations that contributed to the accident. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 120 km/h.
