On Saturday, 12 July 2014, in the evening at 22:30, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 88), a Volvo V40 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 39-year-old driver of the Volvo (15 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober.
