On Wednesday, 15 October 2014, in the afternoon at 14:51, in Tauragės district municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 159.80), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and a Citroen Xantia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.51‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence.
