On Thursday, 27 March 2014, in the evening at 21:45, in Tauragės district municipality, Ceikiškės village, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 159.04), a Volkswagen Passat hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 22-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by a 22-year-old pedestrian, who was walking at night without reflectors (light, hi-vis vest) and was walking on the carriageway where prohibited. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was fog, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
