On Tuesday, 11 November 2014, in the morning at 9:15, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Prienai–Alytus (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) national road (kilometre 6.95), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel Omega and an Opel Astra. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 56-year-old driver of the Opel Omega (35 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
