On Friday, 23 January 2015, in the morning at 8:50, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 9), a KIA Motors CEE'D hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the KIA Motors (14 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
