On Friday, 18 September 2020, in the evening at 21:30, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 10.60), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel Zafira and a Subaru Outback. One person was injured — a 68-year-old passenger of the Opel (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 71-year-old driver of the Opel (33 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
