On Tuesday, 17 February 2015, in the morning at 10:30, in Kaunas, on Savanorių pr., at the junction with Birželio 23-iosios street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Polo and an Alfa Romeo 156. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 62-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (37 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
