On Wednesday, 8 July 2015, in the morning at 10:50, in Kaunas, on S. Žukausko street, at the junction with Savanorių pr., an Audi A6 registered in Norway hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. Two people were injured — a 23-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized) and a 3-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Audi (13 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
