On Tuesday, 5 May 2015, in the morning at 8:30, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 10.27), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Caddy, a Kaessbohrer, a Toyota Corolla Verso, a DAF FT XF105.460, a Mazda 626 and an Audi 80. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (8 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
