On Wednesday, 20 May 2015, in the evening at around 18:00, in Biržų district municipality, on the Pasvalys–Vabalninkas regional road (kilometre 24), an Alfa Romeo 156 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Alfa Romeo (1 year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
