On Saturday, 20 June 2015, in the evening at 21:50, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 113.39), a Volkswagen Passat ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 50-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.04‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
