On Thursday, 4 February 2016, at night at around 23:00, in Kaunas, on Tunelio street, at the junction with Radvilėnų pl., a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved an Audi A6 and a Volkswagen Polo. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Audi (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.77‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
