On Wednesday, 18 May 2016, in the afternoon at 15:30, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 114.50), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and an Audi A8 registered in Germany. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 51-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (30 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober.
