On Wednesday, 15 June 2016, in the evening at 17:36, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 121.10), on a bridge, an Opel Astra Station Wagon ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Opel (9 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
