On Tuesday, 26 July 2016, in the afternoon at 15:45, in Šilalės district municipality, Palokysčio village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 242.31), a BMW 525 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the BMW (6 years of driving experience), who violated overtaking rules. Both drivers were sober.
