On Sunday, 2 January 2022, in the afternoon at around 11:00, in Šilalės district municipality, Mikūlių village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 242.40), a Nissan Pathfinder ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Nissan (10 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident there was fog, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
