On Monday, 1 August 2016, in the afternoon at 13:26, in Šilalės district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 208.03), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volvo V40 registered in Finland and a Ford. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 67-year-old driver of the Volvo (20 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober.
