On Monday, 3 October 2016, at night at 0:48, in Raseinių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 174.95), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Skoda Octavia and a Volvo XC70 registered in Latvia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the Skoda, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was fog, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
