On Tuesday, 4 October 2016, in the evening at 21:44, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 83.90), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat registered in Great Britain and an Audi A4. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (8 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations, failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He refused a sobriety test. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 120 km/h.
