On Wednesday, 19 October 2016, in the afternoon at 15:45, in Kretingos district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 115.85), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Toyota Corolla, a Volkswagen Passat and an Iveco 35C17. Two people were injured — a 45-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient) and the 18-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 52-year-old driver of the Toyota (34 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober.
