On Saturday, 3 December 2016, at night at 1:52, in Kauno district municipality, Biruliškių village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 95.41), a BMW 318i hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. She had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. A 39-year-old passenger of the BMW was drunk (1.94‰). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
